I'm trying a new location to blog, we'll see how it works with photos. This is the Aqua/turquoise feathered star block with close up
here it is made, with some hand stitching threads....no beads
Obviously I made my own pattern, it's so wonky!
(never sew when you are in the pain I am)
I did hand embroidery before the beads went on. French knots, boxes, cross stitch, loops
a couple small paintings
fragile on the left, shell on the righght |
that's it for now, hope this works

Great that all your photos are uploading again!
ReplyDeleteWonky doesn't make it less pretty! That's a great block. The butterfly is stunning!!!
ReplyDeleteLove your block and butterfly. The colors are gorgeous! I love your paintings. Hope you're feeling a little better.
ReplyDeleteIf you have ever studied a butterfly, you may notice, as I have done, that aren't totally symmetrical. Life has a way of taking a notch of wing here or there. So, I would say yours is not wonky, but realistic and fanciful. The mini face button has me smiling. Felt like something in an Alice and Wonderland illustration.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your work!
ReplyDeleteI love all the feathered stars you’ve made so far. But that aqua sequined, beaded and hand embroidered is spectacular! Oh my! ! 🩵🩵🩵🩵❤️
ReplyDeleteSwoonworthy feathered star blocks! Love, love!
ReplyDelete,....to me wonky is funny, not boring, stretching normal boundaries, perhaps something else that leads to growth and a start of a interesting conversation with color and fabrics and beads and paint, not necessarily in that order. I love your flutterby in the tune of aqua!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on that awesome artsy butterfly for the TABLE SCRAPS Challenge, LeeAnna, and those pretty paintings as well!!
ReplyDeleteThat artsy butterfly is so cool! Of course I loved your aqua Rainbow Scrap Challenge block too! --TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteLooks like what you figured out for uploading blog photos is working - hooray! I love those star blocks you're making. They're so pretty! The butterfly is fabulous! My butterflies were wonky, too, but I don't suppose anything in nature is truly symmetrical. Let's embrace our wonkiness!
ReplyDeleteI adore your feathered star blocks and your fabulous butterfly! You must have had so much fun embellishing her with beads and embroidery.

I'm a bit ate from yesterday since summer FRiday's are tough, but I love that butterfly. Very original. And the cracked pot also caught my eye. I hope you're not having too hot of weather. And happy August! hugs-Erika
