Welcome to Thursday's list of likes for the week! Starting with food...
Fine Dining
let's see, what's in the fridge left over... potatoes, onions, peppers, mushrooms, tomato, and one sausage... so for lunch it was a hash casserole with melted cheddar cheese...
As Easter approached and we had a little cool weather, I made hot cross buns again...
recipe: https://www.recipetineats.com/hot-cross-buns-recipe/ |
okay, technically I went a little crazy on the icing, heh heh but it was there... can't waste it!
I finished my Ebook and audio book, thank you to Diann for telling me it was part of a series so I am looking for the other books at our library... sadly they seem not to be available. I'll keep trying but am reading book two in the Nantucket series now
I like this saga. And listening to this on audio but it's not holding my attention
creatively speaking
I spent the week doing more videos on drawing and painting with time out for sewing. More on Saturday's Creativity round up but here's a taste
learning the value of pattern and repetition |
a good teacher for zentangle and I've been doing her free youtube course since this class |
start with the shape of motion, then draw body parts off that curve! |
working on a pink scrap and using line drawing from J. Steves, a hand embroidered Easter project
I finished my sketchbook from a hand embroidery piece finished a couple weeks ago, details on Saturday
I liked talking/zooming with friends this week, and in general keeping in touch while I still hide at home
dh and I had some talks this week....
Loved these short animations

Hey Mama.... |
Milo's Moment
Milo: Hey Mama I smell something good.... shall I taste test it for you, just to be kind and protective you know.... I'm helpful that way
Mama: Uh Oh, these buns are made from wheat honey, and we're limiting that to see if it helps your ear problems...have one of your pumpkin cookies instead
oy vey |
Milo: Oh my dog... really? I mean I like them and all but that's not what I'm smellering. Did you know we dogs have really good sense of sniffs ? That's why I insist on sniffing the corks from your wine bottles. And licking them. I'm the official taste tester of this house as my pawrents will eat weird stuff like lettuce and bananas.

You cant have enough icing in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteGoing to listen to that Ted Talk right now
No such thing as too much icing! They look fabulous and yummy!!
ReplyDeleteYour "what's in the fridge" meals always look really good! Loved the cat video, too. I'm having to wait for Book 2 in the Ruth Galloway series now - it must be a popular series! Have a great Thursday!
ReplyDeleteI agree too and Hot Cross Buns need more icing, always! Everything does look yummy and your art is wonderful. Milo, hopefully you can return to taste testing soon pal. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteAll the wonderful food and Milo too.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Scritches to handsome Milo. ♥
oh my gosh- may I have your HOTCROSS BUN recipe? wonderful cat video!
ReplyDeleteThose buns look great. I like your embroidered bunny. Funny videos. :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post! My friend Bea is 93 and she has always loved hot cross buns. I would love to have a recipe for them. Happy Easter and have a wonderful weekend. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThe recipe link is under the picture of the hot cross buns
DeleteLOL @ Milo! I would beg for those hotcross buns too! They look fantastic!!! Have a safe and happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteYou can never have enough icing on hot cross buns! Yum! Poor Milo, stuck with a pumpkin cookie. :-(
ReplyDeleteMore icing is always the best choice! Thanks for linking up.
ReplyDeleteMilo knows what to eat! Your hotcross buns look delicious! I love seeing your artwork. Have a Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteFabulous post...delicious looking hot cross buns. Neat drawings and thanks as always for those links. As well as his nibs' contribution too. He's got an enjoyable job as taste tester in your kitchen!
ReplyDeleteYour leftovers look better than mine! This sounds good and now I'm hungry.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are enjoying the Sketchbook project. I STILL haven't seen a single video yet, but at least I now have till the 30th to watch at least a few.
LOVE your bunny and Milo, too. He knows what he wants and it's a hot cross bun. I agree. You can never have too much icing.
Have a super weekend and a blessed Easter, dear LeeAnna.
Congrats on finishing your sketchbook project, LeeAnna! I think making it into a flow journal was a good idea. When its pages get filled, you can simply remove them for repurposing and adding fresh paper.
ReplyDeleteI feel that your quote is directed to me! You see, during the winter I have made bad food choices (= too much chocolate & greasy cheese) and now I want to escape from my fattened reality 😊 My cats talk to each other just like that!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I wish I could taste your richly iced buns! Enjoy the Easter holiday.
The animations are such fun and Milo is so lovely.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Annie x
What a great post! Talking cats, so cute. And the animations had me smiling. The hot cross buns look delicious. I haven't made any this year as my husband is on a strange diet and can't eat them (although he loves them).
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed with your zentangling.
Have a wonderful Easter weekend,
Hugs,
Lisca
Are they really hot crossed buns with all that icing? LOL We did not get any this year in the bakery for Easter. Great likes. Bobbin says to tell Milo that he does not know the yummy awesomeness he is missing by not eating bananas. I swear Bobbin can hear when I peel one and is at my feet even if she is in a sound sleep.
ReplyDeleteWow, hot cross buns?! Well done. Looks like you were very creative this week. Have to say I love that meme about self care. Soo true.
ReplyDeleteThe talking cats, "Ok?", "Ok!". LOL. Food bowl under the counter, wrong car... all hilarious. Great TED Talk.
