Glamingo sees Stars

I'm rushing to add the next round of our Stay at Home Round Robin and will just share what I've done so far...

after googling Art Deco stars for inspiration, and printing these to look at

I went through pretty sky fabrics and chose this for the movement and line continued from the flamingo

and made a couple of maverick stars. I love the dusky purple sea gulls but am not sure I can make that work...I might just do some applique stars too... not those but some better ones

I really like this piece so I won't rush through decisions. I sewed the shells together this week, so I have three sections to move me on my design road, and now stars in her eyes!

and for today's love music... my very favorite song is tropical... and one more tropical love song

"how can he tell her he loves her??" ahhh love from a distance. Many times as a young woman I loved from a distance.... then actually found love with people who lived in other places. Ahhhh the romance of it all... even when I met my now husband he was living in MA and I was living in Florida...

  1. I love the piece of sky with the hot pink and yellow highlights, but you're right, I don't think the sea gull fabric works in the maverick star block. I have great faith in you though, you'll find a better solution.

  2. Enjoying your reflections on love. I was divorced on Friday, moved home on Saturday/Sunday, met my DH on the job Monday. Meant to be! (Just took us three years to be convinced.)

  3. Hi LeeAnna! No need to rush, my friend!! I love that sky piece - it reminds me of a falling star, leaving stardust behind. There are only three rounds to go, so you can wait and see if you want to do them. Or not! That's a choice only you can make. We all want your Glamingo to be your perfect vision. {{{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

  4. Loving your music selections! 50s, 60s, 70s, even some 80s were such good years for music. If you used just thin strips(maybe 2” or less) of the sea gull fabric somewhere, would that have enough effect for you?
