I Like Thursday #281

welcome to this week's list of likes, short and sweet!  I Like Color! and keep paints, markers and pens next to the computer to use

yesterday I drew this... and I love it in person

I like the shading between the circles, the mix of watercolor pencil and inks, the feeling of just going with a choice...

I watched two videos on this...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NoIgdt-uQR0

Next up is reading ...

audio... at last, book four was available and I am devouring it like a bon bon. This series is about a woman who finds to her surprise she can travel through time, and what she discovers along the way about herself and helping others... so so so good

finishing up the last chapter on ebook.... nearing the end of the series... how I'll miss the characters!

watching on tv

we are the last people in America to watch Bridgerton and we are doling out the episodes to make them stretch to the new season coming soon. Speaking of series, This is Us is apparently breaking my heart in this last season. Whatever will I watch on regular tv?? At the moment PBS is doing Finding your Roots, Around the world in 80 days, All creatures great and small.

I love Amazing Race and the perseverance and courage of contestants who returned after the initial round of pandemic to continue to see the world. I love watching and yelling at contestants on the bachelor... he seems to have no discernment on character. I like the Bravo shows, yes I do. I like Ghosts and the show that comes on after that. I like the new show Grand Crew... I laughed out loud.

we all love eggplant parmesan!
I like that my husband helps me prepare meals and likes everything I cook. I'm about to try bread pudding for the first time ever, I've never eaten it either, but my latest loaf is a bit dry so... have a perfectly gooey recipe I should know? email me!

I like achieving the sewing challenges I took on.  I finished the snowman piece, to share tomorrow,

and made a decision on how to add diamonds to "glamingo" for the round robin using these

It's hard to be under pressure to make something in one week as I like to design and think about it... next I need to open my box of my own painted fabric scraps to make something to stitch on for the things I learned in stitch camp.

Milo's Moments

Mama: Milo why did you drop that piece of cheese???

Milo: I haven't gone out to do my business yet... there's only so much room in this svelte poodle body you know! Don't worry I'll be right back in to eat that cheese, don't step on it! Oh and have a cookie ready!

please visit these people to share their likes for this week,  and let me know if you did a post too!

  2. Bobbin doesn't get cheese often, maybe a small crumb of feta. My mom loves bread pudding, I don't know if I have ever had it. I am more of a rice pudding type of girl. I haven't watched Brigerton, but have been tempted especially after seeing the books at work. Can't wait to see your next round for the SAHRR.

  3. I just discovered your blog and this series from reading Knitty Quilter. This is such a fun and positive post, I look forward to participating in the future. I'll be reading your prior posts during my lunch break today.
Milo is very sensible, by the way.

  4. I one of these days we will try Eggplant Parmesan! I know I’d like it! Glad you are still reading too! Do you have speakers for your audio books or earbuds? I tried last week but can’t hear with my machine running! Dang it!

  5. We always enjoy Finding Your Roots! Even if we've never heard of the people before, there's always something interesting in their family history. Love the peek at your snowman quilt! Milo has such an expressive face - I love your conversations with him.

  7. I really enjoy Finding Your Roots too! And yes - This Is Us - so sad that this is the last season. It's one of those shows that usually brings a tear or two each episode. Bread pudding is not one of my favorite things, but I will admit to having a really yummy version with apples and caramel several years ago in a restaurant that no longer exists.

  8. Well, I love parmesan, but I think we could leave out the eggplant! Give me chicken, with lots of cheese, please. For bread pudding, try these: https://www.dessertfortwo.com/mini-bread-puddings/ Small enough to enjoy, but not to tack on the pounds.

  10. Fun! Delicious. Adorable! In that order. :o))
I watched some of those videos, too and that drawing looks like a lot of fun. The eggplant makes me want to get some sharper knives so I can cut the ones we buy properly. That snowman and that Milo are TOO cute!!!

  12. Hi LeeAnna! I do believe I forgot to comment on your lovely curved seashell. It is just PERFECT for this prompt and it looks fab with your glam-ingo. Love every bit of it. Your eggplant parmesan looks deeeeelicious. I don't know if you're on FB but the Amazing Race had a short video of all the contestants that weren't able to return after the COVID break. If you search for their page, you should be able to watch the video. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll send along the link. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

  16. LA - you're not the last people to watch Bridgerton - we haven't watched it! I am sending you hubby's bread pudding recipe, with a sauce that is to die for!

  17. Love seeing your paintings. I have watched Bridgerton, and enjoy it. I am hoping TV picks up soon, although I did return to the dark Ozark this week. I also started watching Tim/Heidi's newish show on extreme sewing and fashion design. Love to see what you are cooking up in the kitchen! Happy Friday...as I am a little late getting to this.

  18. Milo is spoiled rotten. My cats would love a bit of cheese. Not sure if they would go for cookies, though.

I see you are still not interested in Vienna Blood, which comes on after All Creatures on Sunday night (grin). I DOP LOVE Fogg, though. More and more each week, too.

I haven't made bread pudding in years, but I know the recipe I have calls for whole milk, not 2% or less.

I'm amazed at how fast that neurographic art has taken over the internet. Have a super weekend, LeeAnna.

  19. Eggplant parm is one of my favorite meals! I could eat it everyday. I'm not very good about watching series on TV. I never seem to finish them. Milo is always good for a chuckle!

  20. I love your Flamingo piece. Your diamonds have given me an idea as to how to solve a problem on a quilt I am working on. Trying to portray water, and here comes your blog.

Neurographic Art is so freeing. I was lucky to have taken a session of this in person (pre-Covid by a couple of weeks) and have been viewing some of these from time to time. I find the process freeing and I always learn something.
