Today is like no other
Today I am bereft. I am only human and can only do what I can.
We had a valid election according to our constitutional laws yet there are Americans who refuse to acknowledge that. I'm frightened that the current person in office incited citizens to violence against the constitution he vowed to uphold. When I am insecure I go inward.
Domestic terrorists, hold flags even as they commit violence against our constitution, our leaders, fellow Americans, and my capitol. Americans ransacked my capitol yesterday.
True Americans protect the constitution. It is unbelievable to me that so many would destroy our country while holding our flag.
In my lifetime...
I Like what Colin Powell (retired 4 star General ) said this morning... this is a disgrace but we will get through it
that said, these are the fine people who keep lists and may be sharing today

Sending {{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}} and hopeful thoughts, LeeAnna ... <3 Pat
ReplyDeleteI like that democracy prevailed. The electoral college vote is done and in. It was not a bloodbath (although the white privilege was appalling). I am heartbroken our country has come to this, but it could have been so much worse.
ReplyDeleteIt was heartbreaking to see the events unfold and I had a hard time writing my post, too. I was heartened to wake up to the news this morning that the vote was certified and we will be rid of that horrible person soon. I hope today is a more hopeful day for you, LeeAnna.
ReplyDeleteHi LeeAnna and Drew,
ReplyDeleteall I can write is,
hugs, I hope things improve.
Joanne
We are watching what is happening in your counrty, and I hope everything will be better soon... Take care, and I send you hugs
ReplyDeleteOh Leeanna! Sending you many, many virtual hugs! Don't give up hope. There are still more good people than bad people. Good always wins out, even if it will take the next two weeks. Hope you have some sunshine today to cheer you.
ReplyDeleteI've been worried about you as even though we've never met, I know you are a sensitive soul. I knew the chaos where you live would have shaken you to your core. Don't really know what to say to you other than "know that there are very many good, decent, ethical" people in the world. Sometimes it's hard to find them, but we are here. xo from Canada
ReplyDeleteI feel your love Laura... I don't have an email addy so I hope this gets to you as my profound gratitude for being one of the good people
DeleteLeeAnna
I wondered if you would post today because I knew the events yesterday shook you to your very soul. Like others I can only send my virtual hugs. There is still much to fear, but yesterday good people did prevail and continued their important work in the face of danger. On a positive note, I finally got an email for the blog today with 25 links! So things are looking up, my friend.
ReplyDeleteMuch love
Pat
We are very thankful that yesterday is over.
ReplyDeleteI am from across the country but this travesty affected all of us in this great country. In 83 years, I have seen much but never in a million years did I believe this would happen. Frightening!! I'm hoping it's over and my heart goes out to you and everyone. Our country will survive and, hopefully, never forget!
ReplyDeleteHugs to you, LeeAnna. I knew today would be difficult for you - for all of us. We are all hurting, and we need to come alongside each other and encourage each other to look for the good, even when it's hard to see. No post from me today, other than my little heart, which was about all I could muster. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteYour words summed up how all of us were feeling. I will continue to stand, to live and for lack of a better way to put it I will resist the evil that he has brought into our country.
ReplyDeleteLeeAnna I’m bereft at what you must be feeling after seeing the unspeakable actions yesterday. We here in Canada can share you hurt. We all need to hold on you our sense of decency and right and try to hope that tomorrow will be better with the misinformed souls learning the truth in both of our Countries. My post is up such as it is. My soul hurts and I am at a loss for words.
ReplyDeleteThe nuclear codes, oh my gosh. I want to think that responsible people never gave the codes to him. Shudder. Thinking positively, I am, that he'll be removed from office rather than ignored. Big hugs, LeeAnna.
ReplyDeleteSending big hugs, hurting from here in Canada too, where there are many hate groups and some mini protests, one in Vancouver where a CBC reporter was assaulted for taking photos, another in Toronto, in SUPPORT of that heinous, as Sally said, white privilege behaviour. We need to oust this across the globe, and let intelligent calm educated people run things, not money-hungry, can-be-bought creeps. Goodness and sense must prevail.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly how you feel. As Powell called it: "a national disgrace". That Trump said he loves these insurrectionists and that he's just beginning scares me, frankly. _Scares_ me :(
ReplyDeleteI came to see how you were managing. I haven't been able to post much myself - just too raw. Your words are beautiful.
