Pink snowballs

the design wall is alive with new work. The rainbow scrap challenge color of the month is pink, which I love (what color don't I love? beige)
I realized this month, 7 months in, that the pattern I'm doing, flowering snowballs, was designed to have the color in the petal position, not the way I've been doing them, color in the background.

Whatever...
I get to see more color this way, and white flowers are pretty too. This month I made three (on the bottom row) the way it was suggested on the pattern and 12 my way.
So pretty all together. I don't know if I want to put all the colors together... I am enjoying the calmness of just the pink and white.

saw this on pinterest...

This is me !

I realized you haven't seen the finished painted birds top, now ready for quilting

  1. I think the flowering snowballs can be colored both ways and yours looks just wonderful! Loving your mix of pinks. To my eye, they shimmer more when in the background. I've always thought about getting that die --- have to move it up on the Wish List now!

I had fun scrolling back through your blog looking for the last hint of your cattail piece for Houston. That brought me back to Monday January 20 2019 ! You sure have done a lot of different creative projects along side! and have seen and done a lot!
    hugs,

  5. I like the snowballs just like they are. Like you said, this way you get more color. Just pink and white makes for a very cheerful quilt.

  6. Actually I like your version better. There is more color to see. These are really gorgeous and now I can see that mixing your original version with the "correct" version will be very pretty.

  7. I really like your snowballs made both ways, but I especially like the mostly pink ones because of the way those different pinks come together at the corners!

  12. I prefer the white flowers, although the pink peels are more defined. It might be fun to see how they look with a few coloured petals mixed through the white.

  13. Who cares which fabric the petals are made of? I say it's Quiltmaker's Choice. I kind of like your version; it feels more fresh and modern and the white petals are pretty all across the quilt.

  14. If you want to showcase the color, then I think your way really does it best. Had to giggle about your comment "What color don't I love? beige.". Me too!
