the color of the month at Rainbow Scrap challenge is green, and these 12- 8" blocks are my Flowering Snowball blocks done in greens from my scrap bin. I love this block!
Fun way to use up scraps, sometimes the scraps have a pelican sometimes a kite, little birds again or daisies.
sometimes a frog! I like the mix of tones, and intensities.
Did you hear about our blizzard? It was the scariest storm I've lived through so far...So it was a good time to make my snowball blocks! I made a few in black and white too...do a crossword puzzle while sewing?
I did some odd blocks too, mixing up black with colors in different positions...
Here are a few next to the green blocks. This is going to be challenging to decide how to lay them out... more colors to come.... we never know what color is next. How many blocks do you think I need for a king sized bed? They finish at 8"

Loved the green, until I saw the black and white. Those are fantastic! These are going to look great all put together.
ReplyDeleteI thought about you during that humdinger of a storm. Your blocks are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're ok after that blizzard. Your Flowering Snowballs are
ReplyDeleteso pretty. Enjoy your weekend. mary
Lovely blocks!!
ReplyDeleteLove your snowball blocks, a very nice way to use up some scraps.
ReplyDeleteWow! The black and white ones add some pizzazz to the mix don't they?
ReplyDeleteWe were on the edge of that scary storm with the worst of it starting about an hour west of us. We got rain that day, which caused a lot of flooding. Luckily the worst of the flooding is south of us. It's definitely time for spring.
Those flowering snowballs are such fun blocks! I love the fabric with the kites and also the pelicans. Those interesting prints make scrappy quilts so much fun!
ReplyDeleteFlowering Snowball is such a beautiful block. You've done a great job with it. And I'm glad you got through the storm safely. We watched on the news daily .
ReplyDeleteAren't these blocks fun? I've just finished a lap sized quilt top using all different colors. Now I just have to figure out how to quilt it. Glad you weathered that beast of a storm safely.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great!
ReplyDelete156, or 13 per month. You've got this!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had power throughout, and survived! I'll bet Milo needs his exercize, though!
With no sashing and the black blocks for the borders, 196 or 225 blocks. Depending on your tolerance for "cover wars."
ReplyDeleteThose blocks are absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGlad you came through the storm safe and sound. Such scary weather!
These look great! I especially like the two that add in a bit of orange - they add a tiny surprise that I like a lot.
ReplyDeleteRainbow blizzard! Looks great!
ReplyDeleteFlowering Snowballs is a cool block on its own, but in green - it's awesome!
ReplyDeleteLove your Flowering Snowballs. I made a king sized one using cherry themed fabrics but I think the blocks were ten inches. I didn't start out making a king sized one but got carried away and had more blocks than I needed before I knew it because I love that block.
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are beautiful. It is going to be fun to see all the colors come together. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
ReplyDeleteHi LA, love those blocks and all the color. I guess we all survived the bomb cyclone blizzard. I am sure the wind was similar to Florida hurricane, but without the snow, hehe. Now its all melted and hard to believe it actually happened. Sharon
ReplyDeletenope, not melted, not even close. Lucky you!
DeleteLovely, especially the black and white ones! Glad you survived the bomb cyclone. I'll admit, I've never experienced one before and hope I don't again. 😏
ReplyDeleteThose green blocks are beautiful, and I love how they transition to the black and white blocks. I'm thankful you all made it through the blizzard okay! That sounds awful!
ReplyDeleteI love your snowball blocks, LeeAnna! Did I miss an earlier post about how you're piecing them? I've been tempted by the Accuquilt GO! die for cutting out the flowering snowball blocks easily, but not sure whether they'd be a nightmare to piece once I'd cut them out. Yours look beautiful, and I love the tiny kites. Perfect for Spring!
ReplyDeleteGreat flowering snowball blocks! Love the greens!
ReplyDeleteso so pretty, love the green's. Denise-For the love of geese
ReplyDeleteSo far, so gorgeous! I’m going to enjoy watching this one take shape.
