At least this one has grass!! Let's buy it! |
Lots and lots of homes, few of them with a viable studio space, or yard.
Oh, so that's the way it's gonna be?
Poor Milo was trapped in the car with me, and let me tell you it's not as much fun as it looks on HGTV.
To be honest I am not that excited about moving although this will make for a fresh start and be very stimulating. We considered all the locations my husband's company has, and decided Colorado was the best choice for us at the moment so here we are... checking it out.
The homes in the Pinery have what locals call "resort deer" and we watched this group chowing down one afternoon. The next day we looked at a home and the deer were laying in the next yard over, like dogs. Lying around inside the fenced in back yard.
That's a lot to deal with... enjoy this video of deer taking advantage of homeowners.
I hope you find a house you like! I remember the process being absolutely exhausting!
ReplyDeleteResort deer is a funny one! Guess that is what we have here. We live near the edge of town, but have deer and wild turkeys in our yard daily as well. No fence to slow them down however. I enjoy seeing them but they do nibble on our landscaping.
ReplyDeleteLooking for a place to live always seems to take forever. I hope you find the combination of what you like!
ReplyDeleteNot only will you have to adjust to moving, a new climate, but also new neighbors. Looks like a gorgeous place though.
ReplyDeleteLooks so pretty--very woods-ey...moving is certainly traumatic...we have decided to stay here and get people to do the yardwork at our (advanced ) ages....I hope this will be a wonderful adventure for you...not easy though...hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteGood luck house hunting, the Mom says she hopes she NEVER has to do that again, once was enough for her.
ReplyDeleteImagine the fun Milo will have chasing off those deer!
ReplyDeleteMay the home meant for you find you and give Milo the green grass he delights in. Remember this is only for a season of life, there will be more adventures awaiting you.
ReplyDeleteWow. I don't think I could live with deer jumping into my yard, eating my plants! It's a lovely area but that part would bother me cause I'd worry about pets or children. I hope you find a wonderful new home. I worked temporarily in Aurora many years ago and loved that area. Best thoughts to you during this stressful time.
ReplyDeleteChoosing a house is much more difficult than it looks on TV. Every area has different layouts and popular features (which may or may not suit you.) As I recall, Denver has very small lots but fewer fences. Double paned windows are essential to keep heating costs down. Many homes had basements but most were not finished or not finished well.
ReplyDeleteOn the plus side, this will soon be over and you'll settle in beautifully.
Beautiful homes and such lovely deer visitors they have!
ReplyDeleteHello, choosing a house can be a stressful time. So is moving, but once it is done I am sure you will all be happy. Love the deer. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the video of the deer, but I would not want them at my house. I know they would eat the buds off of every flower I have!
ReplyDeleteBut what a fun adventure!
ReplyDeleteHi LeeAnna,
ReplyDeleteno weeds! and no flowers! Not my lawn ornament of choice!
Great filming!
You've moved! Househunting can be tiresome but it's fun to see inside places, I always find. The right place (complete with a space for your studio) will come along eventually.
ReplyDeleteWe just moved from CO to FL in March after living in Littleton for 18 years--moved to be by our grandchildren. Now we are in the path of the hurricane--no hurricanes in CO! Parker is growing like crazy--one of my dearest friends lives there. The prices are ridiculously high on housing right now but I hope you find the perfect home where you will be very happy. We loved living in CO....it is a beautiful state with near perfect weather!
ReplyDeleteBeware of Bambi. He will decimate your shrubs and eat your flowers. We have them in CT, although you rarely see them in the daytime. I spray, spray, spray to keep them away and even then it always doesn't work. You need a fence at least 6 feet high. Good luck with the house hunting. I hope you find something special.
ReplyDeleteSo-called deer fences would need to be 87 ft. tall to keep them out and even then I suspect they'd chew them down and then jump over. You'll learn garden plants that are deer proof are somewhat limited. Many locals refer to them as rats with antlers. 😄
