One reason was an abundance of blue scraps and he calls for many 2" squares, and boy do I have those already cut for watercolor quilts!!! Here is my chock-a-block box of them...
always ready to play with!! I adore this box of all colors ready to build backgrounds. I pulled out blue squares and divided them into light, medium and dark (first shot) Put back the mediums and then turned to the larger brighter medium blues to cut 3.5" squares.
Fun!
I even started sewing the opposite corners on, one light, one dark following the instructions,
except I sewed another line on the outside so when I cut off the excess I'd have teeny little one inch half square triangle squares for something, hee hee!
see the two blocks and the teeny little ones?
I don't know what this mystery will entail, but these little blocks are very usable anyway, and so much fun to pull out so many blues.
Of course the scrap bins won't close now that I pulled so many out.
here are a few of the ones sewn...
It's nice to see some prints I really like being used.
Life is in the details, right?

ReplyDeleteYou really took Kevin's suggestion of "more is better" to heart, didn't you?! I found that I didn't have as many options as I would have expected. That means more repeats, but since I'm actually USING some of my scraps, it's all good!!
