See the bee in the center of the flowers in the center of the weeds??? |
One is on the principles of design where we'll all be making a tiny abstract quilt and one is on the need for binding and how to join the binding strip at the end.
Even one hour classes take work to organize. So I haven't been sewing enough.
The blue blocks were made a few months ago but I wanted to show the people over at RSC2015 because light blue is our color this month
check out the scissors and the bees! |
I now have four of these big boys
and I like how they all look together in the photo. I think they'll make a spectacular bedsized quilt for my husband. Over the last 20 plus years I know if a quilt has lots of blue he'll like it.

Beautiful blocks. Sounds like a fun way to make them.
ReplyDeleteLove the string blocks!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you're making and arranging your string blocks!
ReplyDeleteThe light blue and bright blue play so well together. Enjoy the classes.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like the prefect way to make string blocks; I must try it soon. Preparing for a class always takes a lot of time, and although it becomes more routine as time goes on, it can never become automatic. Enjoy the classes.
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued by your string block construction method. Maybe you could post a few process pictures some day for those of us who are visual learners? Love the results!
ReplyDeleteThat's the way I make my string blocks, too. (We're so alike!) I thought I was so original and then found a video from Missouri Star Quilts with basically the same technique. I guess people are tapping our brain waves. ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove that bee! Have fun with your classes!
ReplyDeleteYep - love your blue blocks - and with all the others - they are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors on those stringy blocks! I keep thinking about making a string project - maybe after I finish a couple of the 4317 projects I've already got going...
ReplyDeleteAmazing sized blocks!!! Love your colours.
ReplyDeleteI love quilts but would be at a lost on making one for myself. You are very talented. ☺
ReplyDeleteIt does take a lot of time to prepare for classes. But it is so much fun to teach what we love. :) I really like those scrappy blocks. They are on my bucket list.
ReplyDeleteLove your blocks, I like the little bees buzzing on the fabric strip and on the flower, packing for a class can be maddening as a Teacher or participant gathering what is needed and trying not to forget anything Happy Stitching
ReplyDeleteLove this block pattern. Looking forward to seeing your colorful blocks come together in a quilt.
ReplyDeleteLove how those look together! My hubby likes green so I have gathered a lot of green since I met him!
ReplyDeleteLots of pretty blues! Hope your classes go well.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great block for scrappy strips. It will look lovely as a rainbow. BTW I couldn't reply to your comment - thanks.
ReplyDeleteFun scrappy blocks! Thanks for sharing!!

I love the blue and yellows too! I need to make a sting quilt as I love how yours is coming along!
ReplyDeleteThose string blocks look like fun! I like how you varied the width of the strips.
ReplyDeleteI think string quilts look so lovely; they have a real old-fashioned feel to them that appeals to me. Your blocks look great, and that bee is too darn cute! Thanks for linking up to Main Crush Monday!
ReplyDeleteLove your string blocks!
ReplyDeleteYour bee square project is just so much fun to look at!
