The Twelfth Cow in Black and White

Well, here she is...
the twelfth cow... in black and white.
A black and white cow??? How RIDICULOUS!  Who could imagine a black and white c...oh...wait...

She's a non nonsense kind of gal. She is a linear thinking, she likes order in her life. She wants to know when it's time to eat, and when it's time to give milk. She likes simplicity. She knows life is not all black and white, that there is lots of gray but she doesn't like it. She knows which cows in the herd are full of it. She knows which farmers have warm hands. She knows she gives the best milk. She. Knows.

Here's the thing... she was never named. She may be straight laced but she longs for a name.
decision made, the layout works for me

I made 11 cows with the rainbow scrap challenge  (superscrappy ) this year, from scraps in all colors. Then this month there was no color given. I needed a twelfth cow.
Okay, I do love black and white fabric so that's MY chosen color this month. I will eventually do black and white flamingos and dishes all from the scrap pile <==

I have made each cow with floral print fabrics and this one was no different. I just love this herd. It will take a minute to set them right, and make the decisions needed to honor them the best way possible. This is a hard part for me.

Paring down the possibilities and choosing one.
Forgive me for not showing you all of them until they are done.
Please  help me name this girl.

A classic cow need a traditional name. Bessie was my cow as a girl. Such a great name for a cow. Looking forward to a visit from the whole herd.

Hi, I have been following your blog for awhile. I love the cows and flamingos. (and Cole too I just wanted to suggest a name for your b & w cow. I like the name Mary Beth for her. I always thought that if I had a cow I might name her Carmen. I have always liked "people names" for animals. I've had dogs named Fred, & Gracie. (From Sara who emailed because of trouble leaving a comment)

Since she's so simple how about Simply Sybil.

I was going to suggest Oreo, but I was beaten to it!
I love all your cows so much. I've got the pattern saved, so maybe someday I'll make one (or two), too!
I'm looking forward to seeing your herd all together!

How about Blossom in honor of all of the flowers used? We had a Blossom cow for 10 years when I was a child. I have enjoyed seeing your cows, flamingos and dishes. It will be fun to see how you set each one.

How now? A black and white cow! You've got some super suggestions, but I vote for Pepper. :P

I can hardly wait to see all twelve together. I'd probably call her Daisy.

Your cows are my favorites, and the flamingos make me smile, too. I love your cleverness in how you use various fabrics for the cows.
When I was born, my brother was working on a nearby farm where there was a cow named Kathleen....Yes, my name is Kathleen after that special cow! But I'm not sure you want a cow with an Irish name (even though I think it's a great name). I like the Joyful Quilter's suggestion of Pepper. Thanks for showing us your latest creation.

Margaret. Yes, she told me so.

Yes, Bessie -- she was the "lead" cow in my uncle's herd where I spent some happy childhood summers!

I really like your cows. Viola is the main character from Shakespeare's play Twelfth Night... and she's the Twelfth Cow.

Aahh, you know I love your herd of cows...I can't wait to see them all together. I had a b/w cow as a girl - her name was Betsy. But this cow deserves a name becoming such a beauty. I know you'll come up with something wonderful. :) Thanks for sharing on MCM!

Love this 12th cow. She's gorgeous. Since she's black and white, how about a classic movie star name, like Greta or Marilyn?

Absolutely gorgeous!! I remember having a cow called Gertrude when I was a little girl :)

So like Oreo as well. I am impressed at your stick to it ness. I start some of those year long challenges with the best of intentions but then fall off the band wandwagon. 12 cows, to say nothing of countless flamingos and dishes. Bravo girl!

I was thinking "Contrast" since she is a black and white kinda gal. I love your flamingos too, are they almost done at this time of year? Have a merry Merry Christmas, and give Cole a few pets from me.
